Why cant I connect?

When I connect, it says "Connection Refused". Is there something with the server?

freaking lag i suppose

the new patch is causing a lot of problems with the server including causing some really bad lag

whats doing this
it cant just be the patch
cuz as it is SMP is IMPOSSIBLE to play on this server

i cant log in for an hour without it lagging like hell or booting me off
also if i do get in i cant mine cuz 40% of the blocks have to be rehit
the only thing that works is TNT
which is y the griefers are the only ones making progress atm

dude phren if u need to shut it down for a day or something go for it
i think everyone would be happy to go a week without playing the server
if it meant the lag could be fixed or at least be reasonable
hell ask that dev friend of yours for help

but there is no reason y a dedicated server like this should be this fucked up

it could be just that the dedi he chose to get isnt too great he has talked about switching to one that has some more bandwidth and some other stuff idk though

im fine with the server going down for a bit, i need to work on homework anyways...
