Server Rules

Im making this thread as an attempt to set the rules as I believe Phrenic wants them set as
-im sure if he has a problem or an opinion with them he can edit this at any time, same for any of the other admins (though keep debates to the suggestion thread so we dont confuse people, your edits will for obvious reasons remain uncontested by me)

1st rule
NO GRIEFING!!!
-griefing is the destruction of another players creation by ANY means without their permission
minor offenses may result in a warning or temporary jailing
major offenders will be BANNED
it is entirely up to the present team member's discretion on what counts as major or minor, or if the person in question is guilty

2nd rule- thievery
Thievery is allowed but frowned upon
however if you destroy peoples creation in order to steal it will count as a MAJOR GRIEF offense and be punishable by permanent banning or revocation of privileges

3rd rule- NO Duping or Hacking
Duping is the unnatural (by relation to the games normal program) duplication of an item
any duped items must be destroyed, any offenders will be warned and if ignored will be banned
Hacking yourself unfair or un-permitted advantages is against the rules and you will be BANNED

3.5 rule- possession of hacked items
if you are found with hacked items it should count as though you hacked them yourself
(thieves be warned) and result in a permanent ban
unless the accused presents a believable reason as to how u didnt know they were hacked or how u came about them (thievery is not a valid excuse-unless its from an admins chest, in which case god help you that its not the same admin banning u)
4th rule- ingame language
while swearing is perfectly ok, people having heated and long aggressive fights on a chat is annoying, if you really have a problem then take it to the forum and fight it out there where people can optionally read it
consequence- jail time till your heads chill out

5th rule- team respect
now i personally think it unfair for a person not to be able to call people out as being unfair to them if their a staff or not, and or harmless messing around
(the staff is composed of volunteers helping out of their own accord, that being said just because their volunteers does not mean they are all white knights and should not be exempt from reproach)
so ill leave this rule as
No direct insults against staff members (IE: name calling), or unfounded accusations
consequences jail time, banning if persistent or extreme violation
[Admins words are FINAL]

6th Rule- Abuse of Privileges
Any Abuse of special privileges will result in revocation of all your privileges

Using your privaleges for personal gain is the point of them however using them to the DISADVANTAGE of another player is considered abuse mods especially, you can not loot since your advantages will make that unfairly easy for you.
consequence, temporary revocation of privileges at least
BAN at worst case abuses

remember the execution of the rules is purely at the present team members discretion and will be based on what they can prove and in some cases what THEY believe to be true, also admins out rank mods
however hard evidence goes along way, if you got a screen shot or better a screen shot movie of the perpetrator chances are they will be banned regardless of who they are

these rules only apply to violations committed after the publication of these rules, not any prior violations

I agree with all that and we do carry these rules out. The problem is it's me, Rage, and Norrisl mostly having to watch everyone while trying to fix things to make the playing environment better for our members. That's why we needed mods but to be honest the current mods seem like they want to play more then do their jobs. I think that is fine but mods are supposed to moderate which is the job given to them before anything else.

Also all the mods imo have unclear judgment on certain things.
I think we need to reevaluate the current mods. Possibly remove mod status to those doing/caring about moderating. In my strongest opinion i think we need to pick maybe 1 or 2 new mods and remove 1 or 2.

I agree with these rules aswell, But I will add a few/edit a few.
My edits will be in bold on the main post.

well the reason i posted this is because i have also noticed a level of uncertainty between the admins having different criteria
example you banning for stealing vs. phrenic saying go for it

i dont think its a matter of opinion merely lack of communication over the subject which is the point of having this forum and me trying to create an official set of written rules
so everyone knows them to the T and therefore and can enforce them
and i think there are a few mods who do their job as is
though ur right some dont
ill vouch for asiangames (though hes an ass - so am i)
and Dragator

Dragtor can be immature, but he is young. I think he's a good addition to the mod team by adding age variety and maybe he isn't the best fit for a mod, he gets the job done.
Asiansgame can be an ass sometimes but he is probably one of the most reliable mods when he's on.

i dont think ppl should be banned for stealing just depends on the how far they go just to steal from someones chest or w/e. im fine with it because yes it is survival and ppl should be a bit mroe careful on where they build and place chests and all that.

i said i vouched for them meaning i believe they really do function as mods as you intended

yes i am mature but as you said i get the job done like whenever the warning messages pop up im usually there unless im like a half an hour walk away and got my warp set at my home and doing stuff here
but like all the time i check the messages sure i get a bit immature at some times but i am 15 so ya your teens are your most immature ages so what can you expect from a teen i mean im not 18 im 15
